The first step in identifying the programs for 2009-2010 was taken at a June 16 joint meeting of the incoming and outgoing officers and directors.  Chaplain Monsignor Malone also attended.  After consensus was reached on a preliminary list, Program Director Dick Breckon conducted a series of meetings with individuals to finalize the list and to recruit coordinators for the programs.

There were several new initiatives included in the planning:

• Blood Donor Recruitment
• Christ in Christmas Billboard
• Arkansas Pregnancy Resource Center (St Joseph’s Helpers) Support
• CCD Teacher Recognition
• Support Sacred Heart of Jesus Helping Hands
•  20th Anniversary Celebration

• Corporate Communion
• National Camps for Blind Children – CCD Teens
• Outing for Sacred Heart CCD Children
• Retention Committee Formation
• Founders Day Celebration
• Development of New Forms – Volunteer Hours, Program Monitoring, and Member Interest Survey  

The Member Interest Survey was designed to both make the members aware of the many programs offered by the Council and also to have them volunteer for programs of interest to them.  The survey is on the web site (Forms), and it is being distributed and collected at the membership meetings.  It will also be completed by all new recruits.  Dick Breckon will record the responses and give the names to his directors to contact as needed for the programs.  There were 43 completed forms collected at the July 7 meeting.  Members who will not be in attendance at the August meeting should download the form, fill it out, and get it to Dick.
