Knights of Columbus Charity Golf Tournament Saturday, July 12, 2025.
The Fr. Victor A. Bieberle Assembly #2316, Hot Springs Village, AR celebrated Columbus Day in a very patriotic way!
Sir Knights festooned the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church early in the morning by posting over 60 large American Flags around the church facilities. They then gathered together in church to say the Madjugorie "Patriotic Rosary" for the consecration of our nation, followed by morning Mass.
The Assembly Faithful Friar, Fr. Bill Elser, led the rosary, with past and current Faithful Navigators leading each decade. Over 85 Knights, wives and parishioners were present to join in either prayers and/or the morning Mass.
Thanks to Tom Donnelly for the article and pictures.

Dear Brother Knight,
Welcome to the 2020 Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities (CPID). Your efforts over the past years have made this the flagship event for the charities we support within our community. In this unprecedented pandemic era our charitable donations are needed more than ever before. I know we count on you to make this a successful campaign!
Last year Brother Knights donated and helped to raise over $30,000. These funds supported Abilities Unlimited, The Caring Place, First Step, The Special Olympics of Arkansas, ARC of Little Rock, The Hot Springs Civitan Club and intellectually challenged residents at Good Samaritan. Your efforts made a tremendous difference in the lives of countless neighbors that receive help from the caregiving agencies we support.
I ask you to make a prayerful commitment to ensure the success of this year’s campaign by making a generous contribution. Checks should be made payable to “Knights of Columbus” with “CPID” on the memo line and mailed to Rick Phillips, Financial Secretary, 11 Vuelta Lane, Hot Springs Village, AR, 71909. Alternatively, you can bring your check to the October 8th Council meeting.
Due to the impact of the pandemic, we are making changes to our traditional campaign. In addition to your personal contribution, I ask that you participate in spreading our new crowd funding effort. We are utilizing GoFundMe to source donations from as many people as possible to support our 2020 campaign. In order to maximize the number of donors, it is important that you share the link below with as many friends in the Village as possible.
Helping People with Special Needs, organized by Murray Claassen
Also consider sharing the link with your out-of-town friends and family members and ask that they share the link with others.
The "Tootsie Roll Drive" gate collection component of the campaign has been postponed until Spring 2021. Details will be provided at a later date.
God bless you for your Charity, Unity and Fraternity in doing Christ’s work within our community.
Fraternally,
Murray Claassen

Brother Knights,
News of the aftermath from Hurricane Laura continues to arrive. The articles and photos from the hardest hit areas of southwest Louisiana over the past couple of days show the widespread devastation left by this monster storm. Indeed, Laura is the strongest hurricane ever to make landfall in the state of Louisiana. Many thousands of homes were destroyed. Hundreds of thousands of people in the region are without electricity and water. It will be several weeks before these basic services can be restored and potentially years before a sense of normal will be restored.
The Diocese of Lake Charles suggests the most effective way to provide immediate relief is to send money; which can be used to provide essential supplies to those who are without shelter and food.
If you would like to help in this disaster relief effort please mail a check to Rick Phillips, Financial Secretary, 11 Vuelta Lane, Hot Springs Village, AR, 71909. Alternatively, you could bring your donation to the Council meeting on September 1. Checks should be made payable to the Knights of Columbus, with LA Disaster Relief in the memo line. All donations received locally will be forwarded to the Diocese of Lake Charles.
Please keep all those who have been impacted by this storm in your prayers.

On August 14th the Knights of Columbus hosted the first spaghetti dinner in the Lower Hall since the onset of the coronavirus. Arkansas Department of Health guidelines were strictly followed; including temperature checks of all patrons, hand sanitizing stations, physical distancing and face coverings. Traffic control was managed efficiently with 95 carry out meals delivered to drive through patrons. An additional 65 meals were served to dine in patrons. Thank you to all of the Knights and spouses who volunteered to make this event a success!

The Civitan Club is an organization that focuses on helping people with developmental disabilities. In 2018 the Hot Springs Civitan Club approached Council 10208 with a unique opportunity to donate to the construction of a park designed for people with disabilities. A donation was made from our CPID collections in 2018 and 2019 to assist with this project. Photos of the completed project are below.
