Deacon Larry Lipsmeyer is named Knight of the Month for September 2009.  With his wife, Jan, Larry has previously received the family award in 2005, 2003, 2001, and 2000.  He joined the Knights of Columbus in November 1958.

In addition to serving as assistant to the chaplain for Council 10208, Deacon Larry helps with the RCIA adult education program, serves as the contact for families preparing for a funeral,  assists couples in marriage preparation, works with the youth in training to serve at mass, and directs the workshop for extraordinary ministers of communion.  He recently spent many hours in tabulating the results of the parish survey.  He is currently involved in organizing the Advent Retreat.
Larry serves on the Diocese Finance Council and on the Audit committee Subiaco Abbey and Academy - his alma mater. 

However, his most important and rewarding experience is assisting Monsignor Malone in the celebration of mass.

Whatever the challenge, Deacon Larry addresses it with energy and dedication tempered by his strong Catholic faith and the principles of the Knights of Columbus.   Congratulations on earning this award!
