Jim and Ginny grew up in Chillicothe, a small town just north of Peoria IL. They have three children and four grandchildren. They have lived in Illinois, Indiana, Germany, South Carolina, and now Arkansas.
Jim joined Caterpillar Inc. right out of college, and through a long and rewarding career he was responsible for managing a variety of areas mostly in support of Cat's petroleum and marine engine markets. These markets included Product Engineering, Product Support, Product Quality, Marketing, and the marine engine manufacturing facility. Jim retired in September 2008 following 42 years of service.
Jim and Ginny invested in their retirement plans 13 years ago when they bought a lot on Lake Balboa in hopes of someday living in the Village. They arrived in October 2008 and quickly got the house underway. At the same time they got more involved with their faith and the community.
Joining Council 10208 in February 2009, Jim attained his 2nd and 3rd degrees in April, and joined the 4th Degree Assembly in December of that same year. He quickly attained the Shining Armor award for his activity in his first year as a knight.
Jim is a member of the Sacred Heart Men's Club and the Assembly’s Flag Day Committee. He works on the kitchen crew and participated in the council sponsored Deaconate dinner at the Little Rock Diocese Campus.
His community involvement includes membership in the Village Woodworkers as part of a team working to make toys for underprivileged children in the area. His hobbies include spoiling the grandkids, RVing, boating, SCUBA diving, doing home projects, and accepting the challenge of someday becoming a bogey golfer.
Jim, congratulations, and thanks for your dedicated service to this council in the 15 months you have been a member. Your service is truly a model for other new knights to emulate.
