On Saturday March 10, 2018, twelve Brothers were Knighted in Hot Springs St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Join us in congratulating these 12 men pictured for completing Knighthood and giving of their time and tallents to our Council. We appreciate all that they do.
LONGEVITY AWARD FOR A STELLAR KNIGHT
At the March 2018 Council Meeting, our Grand Knight presented a special congratulations to Sir Knight Paul Schnoebelen on attaining seventy-two years of Knighthood this Spring. He’s been a Knight longer than many of us have been on earth! Paul, your faithfulness to the teaching and precepts of Fr. McGivney is an example to all our Brothers to emulate. You are an inspiration to all of us, sir. We are proud to know and serve with you in charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. God loves you and so do we.

Our guest speaker at the March 2018 General Council Meeting was Kim Puska from the New Beginnings Pregnancy Resource Center on Conrad Street in Benton; they are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday if you care to drop in.
The Council voted last month to allocate $4,657.53 from the Jim Goodson managed Baby Bottle Campaign for support of the ultrasound initiative that came to fruition last year—because of our providing them an ultrasound machine (with matching funds from the Supreme Council). We funded a large part of the operating expenses both last year and this year. Kim has already received our first monthly installment for the year!
Kim delivered a 20-minute presentation to bring us all up- to-speed on New Beginnings’ efforts and successes. Her inspirational presentation about what New Beginnings does, how they use and appreciate our support, and the lives saved because of our largess moved many of us deeply and underscored how Knight’s charity saves lives. Pictured here, the Grand Knight presented another monthly operating stipend of nearly a thousand dollars to Kim.

Our newlyweds, Dan and Joan Murphy are recognized as our February 2018 Family of the Month. The tremendous success of the Mardi Gras falls in great measure to Dan Murphy and his wife Joan. The Cuba’s and Gremillion’s toted a good share of the load, but Dan’s efforts deserve a stellar well done. Dan has contributed significantly to this Council for years, always ready to pitch in wherever and whenever needed. Danny was a 3-time Council Warden, Guard, does Meals-on-Wheels, perpetual adoration, and so much more.
Joan has been a stalwart of the parish life committee, LOSH, and a key member of Str. Anthony Guild. She helps with Meals-on-Wheels, works with the kids at Mt. Pine, calls Bingo for us and stroke victims—and so much more; like Danny, she’s an invaluable asset to the parish. Both have hearts of gold, full of charity, and are a pleasure to work with on their many endeavors.
Thank you both for your commitment, dedication, and service to all our brothers and sisters. Congratulations.

Bob transferred into our Council not too long ago and hit the deck running. He has become very active in the parish liturgical ministry, and he participates in nearly all our Council events. Bob, we recognize your dedication, commitment, and value to the parish and our Council. Keep up the good work, continue to set the example, and thank you from the Council for all you do.
Twenty-eight men of our parish participated in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Men's Lenten Retreat organized by Sir Knight Bob Honzik and supported by Knights of our Assembly and Council. The 25 Knights included in the group "Retreated" from 26 February to 1 March at Fletcher Hall at St. John's Center of the Diocese of Little Rock.
The Retreat Master, Msgr. Scot Friend, presented nine reflection periods of superlative content with a theme of: "Speak Lord, You Servant is Listening"-- including reflections on "Let God Find You," "God Calls You by Name," "Apples Aren't Healthy in Eden," "Jesus Restores Our Sight with a New Vision," "Living by Faith," Living by Hope," Living by Love," "The Cross and Redemptive Love,", and "Being a Thank You Sayer."
Three Knights that have extensive retreat histories over several years commented that "This was the best retreat ever experienced."

Over the weekend, our Knight's 2nd and 3rd Degree Team held an exemplification in Hot Springs. The ceremonies went great and continue to demonstrate the caliber and committement our team lends to our Council and our District's growth efforts. The picture below is from the event.
