Milt Spaniel is the current Community Director which is his 3rd year of assuming this role. His main accomplishment is being the Co-Chair of CPID (Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities). This was also known in the past as the Tootsie Roll campaign. This year was a record year with over $14,000 raised. I should also mention that John Bodensteiner was Co-Chair. Last year, this council was awarded the CPID plaque for the most money raised at the 2011 State Convention.

Milt has also been very involved in other projects with the Knights. He was instrumental in establishing the first Fall-Fest and the Ham Sales Project. He is one of the best recruiters having sponsored 8 new Knights in the last 3 years.

This is not the first time Milt has been honored in this way. He has received the Knight of the Month 6 times, Family of the Month 3 times, and more importantly Knight and Family of the Year twice. Let’s welcome both Milt and his wife Janice for this important honor.

Bill Roe presents award to Ray Ambrozich with wife, Gynnie.
The Knight of the Month is Ray Ambrozich.  Ray is very deserving of this award and I’m sure we will all agree once I inform you of all of the activities that Ray has been involved in. Ray is very active in both the 3rd and 4th degree. Regarding the 4th degree, he purchases the meals   and works in the kitchen for their dinner meetings. He is also a member of the Honor Guard, and assists with putting the flags up and well as maintaining them. Working with the 3rd degree, he has assisted with the Fallfest, Ham sales (he was one of the top salesman last year) all breakfasts, CPID, and Keep Christ in Christ in Christmas magnets. Ray is also a Eucharistic minister, and a member of the SHJ Disaster Response Team. He also just recently put in many hours on the Treasure Sale. He also fills in at the Jackson House when needed. He is a member of the VFW Honor Guard and Color Guard and has participated in 53 funerals with the Honor Guard in and out of the Village. He has also been very involved with the VFW with various events and fundraisers which are too numerous to mention. Let us all show Ray that we appreciate all that he has done to earn this award.
